Once they evacuate the Chopper Base, Phoenix Squadron is left without a home. Once they left this temporary base and joined the Phoenix Squadron, the crew of the Ghost became crucial in helping the Rebels become the organized unit that is featured in A New Hope. However, the Squadron would later be forced to leave the planet behind after Admiral Thrawn was successful in finding and attacking Atollon. Eventually, they find one in Atollon, which would become home to the Phoenix Squadron's Chopper Base in Season 3. In Season 2 of the animated series, the crew of the Ghost go on a search to find a suitable planet that could serve as the base for their operations. However, the Yavin IV base remains one of the most iconic in the franchise thanks to its presence in the original film. Later, with little options left, the Rebels would remain on the move and use their fleet as their main base.
Throughout the original Star Wars trilogy, the Rebels had several bases of operations, like the one on Yavin IV and the base on Hoth seen in The Empire Strikes Back.
The Rebel base on Yavin IV was introduced in A New Hope. Over time, the characters finally join the official Rebellion, and in Season 4, they arrive at the iconic Rebel base located on Yavin IV. The crew of the Ghost - comprised of Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Sabine Wren, Zeb Orrelios, Ezra Bridger and Chopper - fought the Imperials at every turn, helping what people they could to survive the Empire's tyrannical rule. The animated series Star Wars Rebels started with the Empire at the height of its power.
